Controlled Articular Rotations (#CARs) are a great tool to start to improve joint range of motion as well as joint health.
They work by stimulating sensory nerves within the joint, this information is then used by the central nervous system (CNS) to inform the joint how to move via motor nerves. If we move the joint more and through a full range of motion, then the information the CNS gets will be better leading to better movement at the joint.
Here, Wes is performing CARs for the hip. Try and incorporate this movement into your daily routine ie waiting for the kettle to boil at home, as part of your warm up & cool down in the gym.
The more good quality movement we can put into the joints of the body the better results we get. MOTION IS LOTION.
